Description
Ansen Orthopedic Casting Tape is made of knitted fibreglass fabric, impregnated with water activated polyurethane resin.It is used for orthopedic illness or fracture from external wound, to preserve fixation or wounded joint. It is an upgraded product of tranditional plaster bandage.
2. Product Feature
1. Good Air Permeability:
The holes on the product makes good air-permeability, and it can prevent skin from infection, itch or smell which is common in plaster bandage.
2.Excellent X-Ray Permissbility:
This product has much better X-Ray permissibility compared to plaster bandage. Because of that, doctors can examine the wounded part without removing the bandage. Therefore, it helps the accuracy and integrity of examination.
3.High Strength Light Weight:
This product's strength is 20 times that of plaster bandage, but its weight is only one fifth of it. Therefore, orthopedic casting tape has the nature of "high strength low weight". It can protect the body without bringing extra weight; and it can improve the local blood circulation and therefore help healing.
4.Waterproof:
Because of the nature of the materials, orthopedic casting tape is waterproof. It will prevent the body from water and therefore prevent second infection.
5.Environmental Friendly:
The material of this product can be fully burnt causing no harm to the environment.

The curing time of this product is only 30 minutes making it easier for doctors to apply; and the casting tape has good moulding ability so that it can be shaped by real needs.
3. Operation of Fiberglass Casting Tape
1.Put on 1-2 layers stockinette or casting padding to protect the fixed part.
2.Put on medical gloves
3.Open the package, immerse the casting tape into 21ºC to 24ºC room temperature water for 4-6 seconds and squeeze 2-3 times in order to remove extra water.
4. Take the cast out of water, and squeeze out extra water.
5. Wrap spirally on the fixed part, overlapping the previous layer by one half or two thirds the wideth of the roll. 3-4 layers are enough for a non-weight-bearing cast, and 5-6 layers are normally adequate for a weight-bearing cast.
6. Make shape of the casting tape according to real needs. Make forward and backward movements in order to achieve good contact between layers.
7.The operation needs to be done in 3-5 minutes. And allow 10 mins for the cast to sufficiently cure. Patients are not allowed to move in these 10 mins. In room temperature, the product will sufficiently cure in 30 minutes after taking out of water.
8. To remove the cast, pls use electric plaster saw.
