Swab-1 Swab-2 Swab-3 throat excretion collection 
Nasal Specimen Collection1. Remove the swab from the package.(Hold the swab stick)2. Tilt patient's head back about 70°
3. While gently rotating the swab, insert swab about 2.5 cm(1 inch) into nostril until resistance is met at turbinates
4. Rotate the swab several times against nasal wall and repeat in other nostril using the same swab.
Oral Specimen Collection1. Remove the swab from the package.(Hold the swab stick).2. Tilt patient's head back about 70°.
3. Use the swab to rub the 2 inside of your cheek 3 times.
4. Do the same thing on your other cheek.Throat Specimen Collection1. Touch the swab tip to the tonsil area. 2. Rub the swab tip quickly and firmly over this area to obtain a good sample. 3. Remove swab from mouth (without touching any surface). 4. A gag reflex reaction is very common when a good sample is obtained. 5. It is recommended that the swab specimen be processed as soon as possible after collection.
